IAEA chief announces plans to visit Moscow, Kiev

Rafael Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressed the hope that he will soon travel to Kiev, the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), and perhaps Moscow as well.

“I’m planning to try to go to Kiev … and to Zaporozhye. … Probably, in Moscow,” he told reporters after Tuesday’s session of the UN Security Council.

Grossi expressed the hope that he will visit Ukraine soon, although he did not provide a specific timeline.

Because he needs to be in touch with all sides, he stated that he also anticipated to travel to Russia.
