The FBCCI election will take place on July 31

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) will hold its biennial election to the board of directors on July 31, according to news agency BSS.

The new election date for Bangladesh’s main trade body was set on Thursday, when it notified its election timetable for the term 2023-2025 to its members.

The election will be held without interruption on July 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to the election timetable. Following the poll, the names of the elected directors will be announced.

Furthermore, the elected directors will hold elections for the positions of FBCCI president, senior vice-president, and six vice-presidents on August 2, 2023.

The deadline for submitting the names of general body (GB) members to the federation is June 3. On June 11, the election board will release the primary voter list. The final voter list will be issued on June 21 following the verification of complaints and any required changes.

The deadline for submitting nominations for the position of director is July 1.

On July 15, the list of candidates will be made public. The deadline for withdrawing from consideration is July 18. On the same day, the final list of candidates will be released.

A Matin Chowdhury, a former president of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), is the chairman of the 2023-25 election board. Shamsul Alam, a former FBCCI director, and Manjurul Haque, a director of Agrani Bank, are the other two board members.
