Daniel Whitney Swift’s biographical information was included with the declaration, which showed that he had earned the level of Special Warfare Operator 1st Class.

The facts surrounding his departure from the US navy were not further discussed by officials.

Although the US government has worked to discourage its nationals from participating in hostilities in Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, numerous Americans have died there.
