Huawei is using renewable energy to overhaul Bangladesh’s energy industry

According to various business leaders who spoke at the grand event “Huawei Bangladesh Digital Power Event 2022” held at the Huawei Bangladesh Academy on December 28, 2022, Huawei is transforming Bangladesh’s energy sector with clean power and enabling energy digitalization to drive energy revolution for a better, greener future for Bangladesh.

The mega event brought together cross-industry leaders and especially from the textile and apparel industry, where Asif Ashraf Director, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) was Chief Guest. The theme of the event was “Together for a Green Bangladesh, Let the Sun Pay Your Bills” to promote zero carbon in Bangladesh’s energy sector.

Asif Ashraf said in his speech, “We all know BGMEA has a lot of commitments towards the green inversion of RMG factories of Bangladesh. Being the second largest manufacturer there is a lot of pressure to maintain different things. And Huawei has been playing a vital role in terms of empowering energy digitalization to transform the energy revolution for a better, greener future for Bangladesh.”

“BGMEA and Huawei Technologies are working together to address the current electricity demand through green solutions (solar power) and move Bangladesh forward on its greening path,” BGMEA Director added.

In order to relieve pressure on the national power system, he also urged those in the industry to invest in solar energy. He expressed his sincere gratitude to Huawei for many years of supplying effective technologies to Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) and textile companies.

The world’s top provider of ICT infrastructure, Huawei Technologies, is fully committed to integrating digital and power electronics technologies, creating clean power, and enabling energy digitalization in order to spark an energy revolution and give Bangladesh a better, more environmentally friendly future. For the past 24 years, Huawei Technologies has operated in Bangladesh, providing solar panels for low costs that are both cutting-edge and efficient for use in clothing factories.

Liang Weixing (Jack), Managing Director, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited said, “Huawei works in Bangladesh for Bangladesh. Compared to other market shares globally, Huawei’s smart PV market share is 22% which is number one in the world. Huawei’s new generation string inverters relies on the advantages of Huawei overseas service platform, to guarantee high-quality after-sell service.”
