Around 2000 patients get free eye treatment in Jamalpur

Dr. Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust has provided free eye treatment services to 1,850 patients of Islampur Upazila in Jamalpur district. In commemoration of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, this medical service was provided through an Eye camp held on last Friday and Saturday at Sovarchar Purbapara Government Primary School of Gowalchar Union of this Upazila.

The inauguration ceremony was presided by SM Shahinuzzaman, Trustee of Dr. Khursheduzzaman (Mishri Mia) Kalyan Trust Board. He said, “The Trust started its operation earlier this year with the aim of freeing the people of Islampur from blindness within the 105th birth anniversary of Father of the nation. Before this, the trust provided necessary eye treatment services including surgery to about six thousand patients.”

A four-member medical team of experienced doctors led by Ophthalmologist Dr. Ghaffer conducted this eye camp. Patients are given primary eye treatment and eye scanning. Moreover, 460 patients have been selected for cataracts, enlarged muscles and eye tract infections operations on 15 October ahead.

SM Jamal Abdun Naser, chairman of Islampur Upazila Parishad; Tanveer Hasan Ruman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and AAM Abu Taher, Upazila Health Officer were special guests at the opening ceremony of the eye camp.
