Russia has cut gas flows to Europe by 20 percent

Russian gas exports to the European Union have been reduced by 20%. The nation’s energy provider Gazprom reaffirmed this information on Monday, July 25. Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, referred to Gazprom’s statement as an open gas war by Russia against Europe.

The Nordstream One gas pipeline has undergone renovations, according to a Wall Street Journal story citing Gazprom. The shutdown of one additional turbine is the cause of this momentary inconvenience. Germany, however, asserts that there is no mechanical issue limiting gasoline supply. The nation also claims that as a result of Russia’s action, Europe will need to increase its gas stockpiles before winter.

A direct link from Russia to Germany is Nordstream One. whereby 40% of Europe’s energy needs are satisfied. Under the guise of reforms, the Putin administration cut off the gas supply at the beginning of this month for ten days.

Over the next seven months, the European Commission has called for a 15% decrease in gas usage. The decision to reduce gas shipments is seen in Europe as a potential premonition of Russia cutting off gas supplies to the EU.

Basically, the West slapped a number of sanctions on Russia after it began conducting military operations in Ukraine in February. Russia has threatened to fully shut off the gas pipeline as reprisal.
