Pakistani foreign minister launches the dispatch of Emergency Relief for the people of Afghanistan

In order to support those affected in eastern Afghanistan in the wake of the disastrous flash floods brought on by torrential rains, the Pakistani Foreign Minister, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, took part in the ceremony conducted at the Nur Khan Air Base, Rawalpindi, today. Pakistan Embassy Afghanistan confirmed the news.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the close ties between the two peoples and underlined Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its aid and humanitarian efforts for the friendly Afghan people. He said that during these trying times, Pakistan’s government and people stood shoulder to shoulder with the Afghan country.

The foreign minister also emphasized the significance Pakistan placed on its relations with Afghanistan and stressed that the two nations had continued to work together to develop a commerce and transit environment that was accommodating and increased connectivity.

The Chairman NDMA, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy, and top diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs all attended the occasion.
