Bangladesh to play FIFA friendlies against Maldives, Mongolia

During the FIFA window next month, the Bangladesh national football team will play two FIFA friendly matches against Maldives and Mongolia.

In a video message sent out today (Tuesday), Bangladesh Football Federation vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, stated that

They’ve reached out to a number of countries in order to take advantage of the FIFA Window, which runs from March 21 to March 29. They first decided to schedule two friendly matches against the Maldives and Mongolia, based on the parameters of discussion.

The chairman of the national team’s committee stated that they are in contact with FIFA to obtain final approval in this regard.

Bangladesh will travel to the Maldives on March 22 and will play the Maldives in a friendly on March 24. The team will return the next day and fly to Sylhet, where they will play Mongolia in another friendly on March 29, according to Nabil.

The Bangladesh national football team was supposed to play FIFA friendlies against Indonesia in January, however the BFF was forced to cancel the trip due to a vaccine issue affecting some of the national team’s members.
