In the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, Shakib Al Hasan remains unsold

Despite achieving a global record with five consecutive man-of-the-match performances in the Bangladesh Premier League, Shakib Al Hasan has been unable to secure a franchise in the Indian Premier League.

According to bdnews24.com, the Tigers stalwart went unsold during the two-day IPL 2022 super auction in Bengaluru on Saturday.

However, the all-rounder may come up again if a side expresses interest in him in the future.

This year’s IPL will include ten franchises. Kolkata Knight Riders paid Rs 32 million for Shakib in last year’s auction.

Shakib threw his name in the hat for the first IPL auction in 2009, but he was passed over by no side. In the 2010 auction, he likewise went unsold.

Shakib made his IPL debut with the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. He’s been a regular in the elite franchise-based Twenty20 event since then.

Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Liton Kumar Das, and Shoriful Islam are four additional Bangladeshis that have registered for this year’s auction.
