Multiple European petroleum companies are victims of cyber attacks

Multiple oil transportation and storage companies have been the target of cyber attacks across Europe. According to the latest information, cyber-attacks have been reported in at least 12 oil depots and transport terminals.

According to a BBC report on Friday (February 4th), well-known petroleum companies such as Germany’s Weltanking, Belgium’s SEA-Invest and the Netherlands’ Aves have been hit by sudden cyber attacks. The report also said that the online activities of at least three petroleum companies in Belgium and the Netherlands were being severely disrupted. A spokesman for the Dutch petroleum company Avos also confirmed the cyber attack on three of their installations.

Prosecutors at Belgium’s famous petroleum company say they are investigating a cyber attack on the CEA-Invest terminal.

A spokesman for the company said all ports operated by them in Europe and Africa had come under cyber attack last Sunday. The company is still working to get a backup of its IT management system. We are also aware of cyber attacks on other companies. But the investigation has so far found no link.
