Ukraine has demanded that Russia withdraw its troops

If Moscow is “serious” about de-escalating tensions that have risen amid fears of a Russian invasion, Kyiv urged Moscow to withdraw its troops from Ukraine’s border and continue dialogue with the West on Sunday.

“Russia must continue diplomatic engagement and pull back military forces it amassed along Ukraine’s borders and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,” Kyiv’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeted.

According to the West, which fears a Russian incursion, the Kremlin has placed around 100,000 troops and heavy armor near Ukraine’s borders.

Kuleba stated, “Diplomacy is the only responsible way.”

Moscow has rejected any plans for an invasion and stated that it does not want to go to war, but is demanding security guarantees from Washington and NATO in order to halt the alliance’s eastward expansion.
