HOPE’87 Bangladesh launched a Rohingya Health Post Camp in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar to initiate their help towards 3,500+ Rohingya families

HOPE’87 Bangladesh has launched a Rohingya Health Post Camp in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar to initiate their help towards 3,500+ Rohingya families who are deprived of their basic needs. The Rohingya Camp number 18 is the one which is under the supervision of HOPE’87 Bangladesh under a 1-year contract. ZF HILFT. & YOU foundation are working as donors for Rohingya Camp of HOPE’ 87 Bangladesh.

A number of 3,500+ Rohingya families are staying in the HOPE’ 87 health post along with approximately 1,000 community members who are providing them different facilities which are needed to lead a healthy lifestyle. The activities and the facilities which are provided towards in the Health Post are free health check-up, medicine distribution, counseling on family planning, childcare, pregnancy, hygiene, nutrition, breastfeeding etcetera. Moreover, HOPE’ 87 is providing community home visits by doctors on a daily basis. There are facilities regarding treatment for noncommunicable diseases as well.

A group from HOPE’ 87 Bangladesh visited the Health Post of Cox’s Bazar along with the Media and Communication Manager of HOPE’ 87 Bangladesh, SM Nazmus Sakib. A health facilitator from the HOPE’ 87 Bangladesh Rohingya Health Post has informed them about the activities of the Rohingya camp and said that, “The Rohingya people are superstitious about many things and are not willing towards accepting the positive changes. Because of the HOPE’ 87 Health Post Camp, the deprived people are getting the health benefits which are leading them to know the basics of health and safety protocols.”

The Country Representative of HOPE’ 87 Bangladesh, Md. Rezaul Karim said about the Rohingya Camp, “We are aiming to work towards providing them with an education program as well as effective counseling sessions to let them know about family planning to remove all the superstitious thoughts from them with the cooperation of our donor organizations”.
