Malaysia reports 3,010 new COVID-19 infections, 12 new deaths

According to Malaysia’s health ministry, 3,010 new COVID-19 infections were registered as of midnight Sunday, bringing the national total to 2,808,347.

According to data posted on the ministry’s website, there are 263 new imported cases and 2,747 local transmissions.

Another 12 people have died, bringing the total number of people killed to 31,793. The ministry announced 2,584 fresh recoveries, increasing the total number of people who have been healed and released to 2,735,355. There are 41,199 active cases, including 182 in intensive care and 83 requiring mechanical ventilation.

On Sunday alone, 147,655 vaccine doses were provided across the country, with 79.7% of the population receiving at least one dose, 78.6% being fully vaccinated, and 28.7% receiving boosters.
