New Zealand defeated Scotland by 16 runs, thanks to Guptill

New Zealand overcame Scotland by 16 runs in the World Cup on Wednesday, with Martin Guptill hitting 93 and becoming only the second man to reach 3,000 Twenty20 International runs.

Scotland battled to a decent 156-5 off their 20 overs after New Zealand scored 172-5.

In the Super 12 stage, the Kiwis’ second win in three matches kept them on track for the semi-finals.

Pakistan has already qualified from Group 1, leaving New Zealand, Afghanistan, and India to compete for the final qualifying berth.
