Fire broke out at a Banani building

On Saturday morning, a fire broke out in a building in Dhaka’s Banani neighborhood.

According to Md Bazlur Rashid, deputy assistant director of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the fire started on the second level of the six-story structure in the Chairmanbari area at 9:10 a.m.

He stated that ten firefighting units are presently battling the incident.

The building’s first level houses the offices of the private television channel Ananda TV as well as the Amecon store.

The origin of the fire and the extent of the damage could not be determined right away.
