Shakib Al Hasan regains No.1 allrounder spot in T20 cricket

Shakib Al Hasan added another achievement to his list of achievements on the same day that he was named the ICC Player of the Month for July.

However, after his outstanding performance in the five-match T20 International series against Australia, the accomplishment was unavoidable. Bangladesh won the first bilateral T20 series between the two sides with a score of 4-1, thanks to Shakib’s outstanding batting and bowling performances.

As a result of this performance, he was able to reclaim the No. 1 allrounder spot in T20 International cricket for the first time. He passed Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi to take the lead, which he held for the longest time in the globe.

Shakib has risen to the top of the ICC ODI and T20 rankings. In Test cricket, he is the No. 5 allrounder.

The famed allrounder has also moved up three spots in the batters’ rankings to 53rd, and six spots in the bowlers’ rankings to 12th. Mahmudullah, the Bangladeshi T20 skipper, has moved up two places to 33rd place.

Mustafizur Rahman, a fast bowler, has regained his place in the top ten after taking five wickets in four matches, while Mohammad Saifuddin (up 26 places to 43rd) and Nasum Ahmed (up 103 places to 66th) have also progressed.

Mitchell Marsh, an all-rounder for Australia, has climbed four spots to 21st among hitters after scoring 111 runs in the final four matches of a five-match series in Bangladesh last week. Ashton Agar, a left-arm spinner, has climbed one spot to seventh place among bowlers, while Josh Hazlewood, a fast bowler, has climbed 43 places to 34th place.
