China to provide 2 billion COVID-19 vaccines to world this year

In a written greeting to the first meeting of the international conference on COVID-19 vaccine cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated China will give 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccinations for the globe and offer COVAX $100 million this year.

China pledged on Thursday to make efforts to provide the world with 2 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines this year and to donate $100 million to COVAX to promote global vaccine provision in the face of the pandemic’s rampant Delta variant, which is making it more difficult for developing countries to access vaccines and combat the pandemic while the West continues to fall short of its promises.

In a written address to the first meeting of a conference on international cooperation on COVID-19 vaccines, Chinese President Xi Jinping made the announcement Thursday night.

Xi stated that he expected the event to improve vaccination accessibility internationally, strengthen developing-country unity, and contribute to the coronavirus fight’s victory.
