The Bangladesh Bank has changed banking hours

According to BSS, Bangladesh Bank (BB) has re-fixed the banking hour in accordance with a new Cabinet Division directive in order to curb the high spike of Covid-19 in the country.

According to a BB circular issued on Tuesday, banking activities will operate as usual from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 15, 18, and 19, and banks will remain open until 6:00 p.m.

Commercial banks in industrial regions near garment factories will remain open on the 16th and 17th of July to ease the payment of salaries and bonuses to workers on the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

According to the BB circular, bank branches in apparel industrial regions such as Dhaka Metropolitan, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram shall be kept operational as long as security and health regulations are followed.

On Friday and Saturday, banks will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while banking hours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. BB has asked all banks to operate on a limited scale during the rigorous lockdown, which will last from July 25 to August 5.

Banking hours will be 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to ease transactions, with banks remaining open until 3:00 p.m.
