Ongoing strict restrictions to be relaxed July 15-22 on conditions

From July 15 to 22, the government will remove the ongoing stringent restrictions on several topics, including public movement and transportation, which were implemented to stop the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

According to an official handout issued today, the Cabinet Division will release a notification to this effect tomorrow.

However, on July 23, tight limits will be applied once more.

The limitations will resume on July 23, according to the handout, and the Cabinet Division would release a circular in this regard on Tuesday.

Though the handout did not specify the reasons for the exemption, government officials said it was announced in light of the forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha, which will be celebrated in the country on July 21.

Meanwhile, railways minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon announced that all trains would run from July 15 to July 22 while adhering to health rules and leaving half of the seats empty.

In the aftermath of mounting Covid instances, the government issued a week-long strict restrictions’ order on June 30 that shut down all public and commercial workplaces save emergency ones and prohibited individuals from leaving their homes unless it was an emergency.
