Nagad wins Global Economics’ Best DFS Innovative Award

Nagad, Bangladesh Post Office’s mobile finance arm, has won yet another important international award, this time from Global Economics Ltd in the United Kingdom, for “Most Innovative Digital Finance Service” in 2021.

The prize was granted in recognition of Nagad’s great efforts to promote financial inclusion through the creation of a remarkable mobile application.

According to a news release issued today, the financial publication and bi-annual business magazine, which is well-known for its insightful insights into the financial sectors on many businesses around the world, revealed the award last week.

Technology is the key to numerous industrial advancements and success, according to the magazine’s award philosophy. The goal of the Global Economics Awards is to highlight technological innovation’s digital revolutions.

Nagad, which was launched in March 2019, has already gained international recognition for its revolutionary service. The electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) system developed by Nagad was the first of its type in Bangladesh.

The MFS operator is making a significant contribution to financial inclusion in the country by relying on it.

Nagad was named the first Bangladeshi MFS to win the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) Global ICT Excellence Award 2020 for its role in fostering financial inclusion in the same year. The government recognized Nagad’s contribution to the development of Digital Bangladesh at the Digital Bangladesh Fair 2020.

The MFS carrier currently has 5.20 crore users, with a daily transaction volume of Taka 650 crore. Nagad has recently received a positive response from the market for its work under the phrase Deshi Nagad-e Beshi Lave, which focuses on the entire profit of customers who use Nagad.
