Co-production of vaccines by Chinese companies and Bangladeshi partners

Hualong Yan, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, said today that specific Chinese vaccine manufacturing research and development (R&D) businesses have collaborated with Bangladeshi enterprises to produce Chinese vaccines in Bangladesh.

“Chinese vaccine R&D (research and development) businesses are collaborating with Bangladeshi partners to co-produce vaccines in the future,” he remarked today on his official Facebook page.

According to the DCM, China has conducted joint research and development and cooperative production with many developing countries and has aided relevant enterprises in undertaking phase III clinical trials with foreign parties.

According to Yan, China has donated vaccines to approximately 100 countries and will deliver the first batch of 10 million doses to COVAX.

Many underdeveloped countries have received their first round of vaccines from China, he added.
