DMDI calls for deployment of peacekeepers in Gaza

Malaysia’s Islamic organization DMDI has called for the deployment of UN peacekeepers in Gaza.

In a statement issued on Sunday (May 16th), DMDI policymakers called for the deployment of peacekeepers in Gaza to prevent Israel from continuing its military offensive against the Palestinians.

Strongly condemning the violence against innocent Palestinians in Gaza, Dunya Melayu Duniya Islam (DMDI) President Tun Mohammad Ali Rustam said the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should immediately demand an end to the atrocities so that Palestinians can live in peace in their country.

DMDI President Tun Mohammad Ali also requested world leaders to play a role in putting pressure on Israel.

The OIC has called an emergency meeting today to take action on Israel’s continued attacks on Jerusalem and Gaza. Representatives of 57 Muslim countries around the world have been invited to the meeting. An emergency meeting has been called at the initiative of Saudi Arabia.
The foreign ministers of the OIC countries will speak on the Israeli attack on Palestine.
