Brazil suspends coronavirus vaccine for pregnant women The central government took this decision in the case of the death of a pregnant woman.

The woman from Rio de Janeiro died of a stroke after receiving the first dose of the vaccine. The 35-year-old woman was six months pregnant.

It is thought the deaths were caused by side effects. The administration is investigating the matter. Until then, the country’s National Directorate of Health has advised stopping the use of the estrogen vaccine in pregnant women.

According to AstraZeneca, pregnant and lactating women were excluded from the trial. However, there are no restrictions on the Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines used in Brazil.
