5 lakh Chinese vaccines reached Bangladesh

Five lakh doses of vaccine from China have reached Dhaka. Air Force Special Flight S-3 AGF carrying vaccines and AD syringes provided by Sinofarm landed at Bangladesh Air Force Base at Kurmitola at around 5.30 am on Wednesday.

The Chinese embassy’s deputy ambassador, Huang Yan, said the Chinese vaccine had arrived at the first light.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming will formally hand over the vaccine to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Health Minister Zahid Malek at the State Guest House Padma around 11:30 am, said Huang Yan.

Earlier, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jimming announced the arrival of the vaccine today.

At a virtual conference in Dhaka on Monday, the Chinese ambassador said that many countries have a demand for Chinese vaccines. So it will take time for Bangladesh to get the vaccine that Bangladesh wants to get commercially. Apart from that, Bangladesh only allowed the emergency use of Synoform vaccine a week ago.
