Anup Bhattacharya, an artist and renowned composer of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, is no more. He breathed his last at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital on Thursday (May 8th) evening.
The matter has been confirmed by lyricist Tapan Bagchi. He was born in 1945.
Anup Bhattacharya is a founding member of Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Shilpi Sangstha. Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra sang a number of songs including ‘Tir Hara A Dheuyer Sagar’, ‘Rakta Diye Naam Lekhechi’, ‘Purba Digante Surya Utheche’, ‘Nongar Tolo Tolo’.
Besides, this talented artist also composed many songs. Among them, two songs ‘Sukh Pakhi Re’ sung by Rafiqul Islam near Baishakhi Megh and sung by Mitali Mukherjee became ‘popular’.
