Jayasa banned for 6 years for match-fixing

Former Sri Lankan fast bowler and coach Nuwan Jayasena has been banned from all forms of cricket for the next six years. The ICC has imposed a ban on charges of fixing and corruption.

There was already evidence of allegations against the Sri Lankan fast bowler. This time the ICC has officially announced the termination of his sentence. Joyce has been convicted under three sections by the ICC’s anti-corruption wing.

According to ICC rules, he did the fixing himself or made an offer to someone on the team or even hid an offer of corruption. Earlier, the ICC banned Jayas for two years for his alleged involvement in fixing a T20 match in the United Arab Emirates.

He has played 30 Tests and 95 ODIs for Sri Lanka. He has been associated with the team as a bowling coach since 2015.
