The quake affected Sylhet, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Kurigram, and other parts of the country. The quake struck about 9 km north of Dhekiyajuli in the Indian state of Assam.
The quake was felt just before 8:30 am on Wednesday (April 28).
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake had a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale. The quake struck at a depth of 26.9 km.
Apart from Bangladesh and India, the quake was also felt in Myanmar, Bhutan, and China.
