But, what do alcohol addicts believe? Some people started eating sanitizer instead of alcohol. And that killed six people. The tragic incident took place in the Wani area of Yavatmal district in the state of Maharashtra.
According to the Indian media India Times, some residents of a village in Wani in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district have been consuming various types of sanitizers for several days without getting any alcohol.
Some of them recently started having physical problems. They died shortly after being admitted to a local rural hospital. A few more died at home.
Yavatmal Superintendent of Police Dilip Bhujbal said, ‘Some of the workers of Wani were consuming sanitizers instead of alcohol. Three of them were admitted to the hospital due to deteriorating physical conditions. They died shortly after. The other three died at home.
