Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe is coming to Dhaka

Chinese Defense Minister and State Councilor Wei Fenghe is visiting Bangladesh. He will arrive in Dhaka on a one-day visit next Tuesday (April 26) morning. Foreign Ministry sources said on Saturday (April 24) night.

Wei Fenghe will have a courtesy meet with the President of Bangladesh Md. Abdul Hamid. He will hold a meeting with Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed as well.

Diplomatic analysts attach special importance to the Chinese Defense Minister’s visit to Dhaka amid the epidemic of coronavirus. Because Bangladesh is communicating with China due to uncertainty about getting a vaccine from India to cope with the second wave of the corona. And China is also ready to vaccinate Bangladesh.

It is learned that China will send the vaccine at any time if the Bangladesh government wants. In that case, Beijing will initially give 5 to 6 lakh vaccines to Bangladesh as a gift.

Apart from the vaccine issue, the visit of the Chinese Defense Minister to Dhaka is important for many reasons. Bangladesh’s defense cooperation with China is constantly expanding.
