Cape Town’s historic site was set on fire

The fire in South Africa burned down all the historic buildings and structures at the University of Cape Town.

A fire brigade worker was burnt in the horrific fire on Sunday. Authorities say the fire spread from the famous Table Mountain. As the situation got out of reach, all the teachers and students were removed quickly. By then, the famous ‘Jagger Library’ on the university campus and the historic Mustart’s Mill were damaged. Some other buildings are also under threat.

Water is being spread with the help of four helicopters to stop the fire. A few kilometers area is covered in smoke. Authorities warned mountaineers to return to the area quickly. The University of Cape Town is one of the listed universities in Africa.

Meanwhile, police have arrested one suspect in the blaze. The idea is that this person may have been involved in the arson. He is being questioned.

So far no civilian casualties have been reported in the blaze.
