ZEE5 introduces new Bangla content on the occasion of Bangla New Year

ZEE5 Global, OTT platform for South Asian content, hosts a wealth of Bangla stories which are known for their depth, realism and poignance, stories that shatter stereotypes and offer an unfiltered worldview. In line with this legacy of offering great Bangla content, the platform is now bringing to its viewers a new wave of compelling Bangla shows which continue to revolve around female protagonists.

On the occasion of Pohela Boishakh, the platform introduces a unique new fiction show titled Amader Ei Poth Jodi Na Sesh Hoy where a rich young girl rediscovers Kolkata, while following her passion of driving a taxi. A story of love, friendship, and passion, the show takes viewers through an exciting ride with Urmi, as she overcomes the hurdles on her way.

Rimli, one of the recently launched fiction shows, is testament to the powerful storytelling that ZEE5 offers. The story depicts the life of an honest and kind-hearted village girl who puts the welfare of her village and the farmer community first and protests when influential people attempt to undercut the villagers. Another such show Mithai that premiered in January, is the story of a cheerful sweet seller who crosses paths with an intelligent yet self-centred boy. Packed with drama and sentiments, the show is a timeless tale of young love.

Zee Bangla’s Didi No.1 will witness a mega Noboborsho celebration with a four episode special featuring special celebrity guests like Subhasree, Srabanti, Madhumita, Swastika, Ditipriya and many others. The celebrities will be coming in with a partner and participate in the many fun rounds of the show and add to the fun and celebratory vibe of the festival.

On 15th April, the platform is set to stream a grand event celebrating the festive occasion with the cast of Mithai. The event will witness the auspicious ceremony of halkhata, where the cast will indulge in making and distributing sweets, followed by a lavish bangaliana style lunch and baithak, a cultural gala night.

Continuing the grandiose celebration, on 18th April, ZEE5 will stream another specially curated Noboborsho event – ZEE BanglarBorshoboron. The show will see renowned singers and actors entertain viewers with special performances. Hosted by ManaliDhar, Ushashi Ray andAnikDhar, the event will witness fun games and food fiesta involving on-screen couples from popular shows.

Furthermore, the ever popular Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla will host its Grand Finale on 18th April, where one winner will be announced from 6 finalists. A true ode to joy for 27 seasons now, the show’s finale promises enthralling performances and special appearances by talented and popular musicians such asShaan,Sivamani, Shankar Mahadevan and KK alongside mentors Monomoy Bhattacharya, Imon Chakraborty and Raghab Chattopadhyay, and judges Srikanto Acharya, Mika Singh and AkritiKakkar, marking the end of a phenomenal season hosted by Bengal’s heartthrob Abir Chatterjee.
