Denmark is the first country in Europe to completely abolish the use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca corona vaccine.
The country’s drug regulatory authority said on Wednesday it was considering blood clotting as a side effect after vaccination. The 2.4 million doses of the vaccine provided by AstraZeneca will be withdrawn until further notice.
The country’s health ministry said the decision was made because of increased blood clots after receiving the vaccine. This side effect has been found in one in 40,000 people in the country. As a result, at least 22 countries, including Europe, suspended the vaccine last month.
However, the application has been resumed after the European Drug Administration gave clearance. The United States, Canada and the EU suspended Johnson & Johnson’s ticker use on Tuesday over similar concerns.
