China concerned over decision to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan

China has expressed concern over the US decision to withdraw all US troops from Afghanistan by September 11. Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhao Lijian’s Regular Press Conference on Thursday Information about the press briefing has been published in various media as well as on the Chinese government’s website.

US President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan would begin on May 1. The withdrawal of all troops will be completed by September 11.

The withdrawal of all US troops from Afghanistan would mark the end of the longest war in US history. After 9/11, the required number of troops will be stationed in Afghanistan for the security of the US Embassy in Kabul and other US installations.

Al-Qaeda, a militant group led by Osama bin Laden, carried out a horrific terrorist attack in the United States on September 11, 2001. In the wake of that attack, the United States launched a military operation in Afghanistan in the name of counter-terrorism.

US President Biden has said that the goal of the US war in Afghanistan has been achieved. However, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the current security situation in Afghanistan is complex and dire. And the solution to the problem of terrorism is a long way off.
