PM of Norway fined for holding a birthday party in COVID time

Norwegian Prime Minister Arna Solberg has been fined 20,000 Norwegian kroner for hosting a birthday party in the Corona period.

The Norwegian police chief, Ole Saiverud, told the news in a news conference on Friday.

Erna Solberg is the two-term Prime Minister of Norway. He hosted the family event at a hill resort in late February to celebrate his 70th birthday. Thirteen of his family members took part in the ceremony. Arna Solberg also apologized for breaking the coroner’s rule last month for organizing such an event.

The Norwegian government has banned more than 10 people from attending any event in the country to combat the Corona epidemic. Prime Minister Arna Solberg was fined for violating the ban.
