Tahsan became UN refugee agency’s goodwill ambassador

Popular artist and actor Tahsan Khan has become the goodwill ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). He was the first goodwill ambassador of the organization from Bangladesh.

This information was given in a press release of UNHCR on January 2.

There are 32 UNHCR goodwill ambassadors around the world, the statement said. Through their popularity, dedication and work, they highlight the plight of refugees around the world and the work of UNHCR.

Since 2019, Tahsan has been working with UNHCR on various initiatives to reach out to refugees. He has visited Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar and assisted in organizing World Refugee Day and other UNHCR events.

Through these works, Tahsan has seen humanitarian efforts for refugees in Cox’s Bazar face to face, talked to refugees, and learned better about the root causes of displacement, the statement said.
