The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hopes that Sri Lanka will take a decision about the Tigers’ upcoming tour within the next two days.
Jalal Younis, chairman of the BCB’s media and communication committee, said the board did not press for a response to Bangladesh’s proposal as it was a national issue in Sri Lanka.
“We have made it clear that we have to reduce the quarantine period, give us practice opportunities, otherwise we will not be able to play the series,” he said.
Jalal added, “We are now waiting for Sri Lanka’s response. Sri Lanka will make their decision. But since this is their national issue, Sri Lankan cricket cannot make a decision. You know, they have a task force, they control the Covid-19. So we can’t put pressure on them to respond quickly. We are waiting for their response. Hopefully, we will get the answer in the next two-three days.”
“No matter what Sri Lanka does, Bangladesh is preparing itself. We are still positive about the tour,” Jalal said.
