As it was decided previously, not to take the JSC-JDC examination centrally because of the COVID-19 epidemic, this time the eighth-grade students will be evaluated in their respective schools and taken to the ninth grade.
It is unknown at this time that what the schools will do to finish the process, Annual examination will be taken, or another way will be chosen.
The Department of Secondary and Higher Education on Tuesday sent a letter to the Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education, Director General of Secondary and Higher Education and chairpersons of all education boards requesting them to take necessary steps to upgrade students to ninth class on the basis of evaluation through their own educational institutions without JSC-JDC examinations.
Based on that letter, the Dhaka Board remarked, “Considering the overall situation of coronavirus infection, students will be promoted to ninth class on the basis of assessment through their own educational institutions without taking the 2020 JSC-JDC exam.”
The letter said that the educational institutions will be given timely instructions on what to do next.
