At least eight coronavirus patients have died in a fire at a Covid-19 hospital in Gujarat, India. Three of them are women. A few days ago, 5 people died in a fire in the Covid-19 unit of a hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Ahmedabad fire department official Rajesh Bhat told the BBC that a fire broke out at Shreya Hospital in the Nabarangpura area of the city on Thursday morning. Their initial idea was that the fire started from a short circuit. The fire was brought under control within an hour, but eight people died within that time.
Mr. Bhatt also said that 40 Corona patients had been shifted from the hospital to another hospital.
All firefighters who were there to bring the fire under control have been sent to quarantine.
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has directed an inquiry into the incident. The Chief Minister has ordered to find out who is responsible for this incident within three days.
