Online Quarantine Sculpture Exhibition by Tayabuzzaman Khan inaugurated and going on

Artist Tayabuzzaman Khan Topu’s solo online exhibition titled “Quarantine Sculpture Exhibition” was inaugurated on 25th July 2020 at 8:30 pm at his own gallery “Shilpo Chorcha.”

The Chief Architect, Government of Bangladesh, Shameen Aminur Rahman, and Eminent Sculptor, Hamiduzzaman Khan inaugurated the exhibition.

Both the guests highly appreciated Topu’s efforts of creative arts during this pandemic. Topu’s creativity and passion for these beautiful sculptures certainly deserve the due praise and it will spread the positive energy among people during this pandemic, as stated by Sculptor Hamiduzzaman Khan. Shameem Aminur Rahman explained how Topu is trying to popularize this culture of terra-cotta not only in Bangladesh but aboard. He organized workshops with different stakeholders not only to give them the skills but to make them understand the importance of terra-cotta as environment-friendly products, Shameen Aminur Rahman stated.

Shafeen Rahman Khan, son of the artist moderated the session and Afreen Zama Khan, elder daughter of the artist also spoke on the occasion. All technological support was provided by his second daughter Radeeyah Zaman Khan. The exhibition ended with a slide and video show.

The exhibition showcased the thirty-eight (38) sculptures Mr. Khan has made during this quarantine period. The exhibition will close on 15th August with a celebration of the National Mourning Day by presenting the sculptures done on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Artist Topu will be available on Facebook live chat every day at 8:00 pm until 15 August.
