Saudi Arabia has fined Biman Bangladesh Airlines 4.5 hundred thousand riyals for not spraying on aircraft as per health rules. The amount is more than one crore and one lakh rupees (10.01 million BDT), reports Prothom Alo.
According to aviation sources, the incident took place in 2015. Biman formed a three-member investigation committee into the incident last Saturday.
Biman’s director administration Ziauddin Ahmed signed an office order, the manager of ground services (airport services) said. The three-member inquiry committee convened by Golam Sarwar has been asked to submit its report by July 30.
The inquiry committee has been asked to thoroughly investigate the incident, identify the culprits and make necessary recommendations to prevent such incidents in the future.
