Veteran Bangladeshi media personal Mostafa Kamal Syed died in Corona

TV personality and head of private television channel NTV’s program department Mostafa Kamal Syed has died after being affected by Kovid-19. He was Former Director-General of Bangladesh Television.

He died at a hospital in the capital this afternoon. He was 78 years old at the time of his death. Mostafa Kamal Syed will be buried at Banani Cemetery. However, the time of burial and the matter of janaza will be decided by the family as per the government instructions.

Meanwhile, Mostafa Kamal Syed was admitted to Square Hospital last Friday (May 15). Since then he was being treated there.

Mostafa Kamal Syed has spent most of his 52-year career on TV channels. He has also worked at the top level in Pakistan TV. Later he also served as the Director-General of Bangladesh Television. Since the inception of NTV in 2003, he has been in charge of the program department.

From the beginning of his career as a younger producer, Mustafa Kamal Syed proved his sincerity. Though he is not as prolific as he could be, he is none the less very productive and innovative. His dramas, musical programs are landmarks of our TV productions.

He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. His wife is vocalist Zeenat Rehana. The boy lives in the United States.
