Healthcare workers in the United Kingdom and Thailand have begun testing whether two drugs of malaria are effective in preventing Covid-19. The test also includes the drug that US President Donald Trump himself said to take.

Forty thousand American health workers associated with the experiment will see if chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine work against the novel coronavirus.

Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of trumps recent statements about chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine. Despite warnings from doctors, he said this week that he was taking the drug regularly as an antidote.

Trump said he has talked to many about this. He said that it is the desire of the person to consume it. Although the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said last month, hydroxychloroquine is not safe for the treatment of covid-19. The CDC did not approve its use.

Chief investigators in Thailand and the United Kingdom say their months-long “COPCOV” test will help stem the tide of controversy.
