Plasma therapy will start today at Dhaka Medical College

Plasma collection activities from the survivors of coronavirus infection are starting today, Saturday (May 16). The Blood Transfusion Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital will collect plasma from the three corona survivor doctors. Initially, the hospital will provide plasma therapy to 45 critically ill corona patients.

Work on a scientific study (clinical trial) on the application of plasma therapy could be completed by next June.

It is officially starting from today, Saturday. Plasma will be collected from three physicians who have recovered from COVID-19. The clinical trial of plasma therapy may be completed in June.”

The three doctors who agreed to donate plasma were Dildar Hossain Badal, a doctor at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka, Doctor Piyas of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital and Atiyar Rahman of Kuwait Friendship Hospital.
