Kurt Cobain’s ‘Unplugged’ guitar expecting $1 million in auction

Julien’s Auctions announced on Monday, The guitar that Cobain played for the 1993 live taping is going up for sale, The guitar comes with a battered case, whose storage section carries a tiny suede bag where the Cobain is said to have stashed the heroin he was addicted last years.

Julien’s CEO Darren Julien recognized the guitar has gained its rightful place in history as the instrument performed by one of rock’s most influential artists and icons in one of the most celebrated and most memorable live performances of all time. The expected price of $1 million for the guitar is just a starting appraisal, Julien’s added.

Kurt Cobain recorded the “Unplugged” session in November 1993. After a couple of months, Cobain was found dead just at aged 27. He killed of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Seattle home in April 1994.

The guitar will be installed for public display at the Hard Rock Cafe in London’s Piccadilly Circus from May 15, and at Julien’s Auctions gallery in Beverly Hills from June 15-19.
