Rabindranath Tagore’s birth anniversary celebrated digitally

Yesterday the nation has celebrated digitally the 159th birth anniversary of Biswakabi Rabindranath Tagore due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, whos contribution reshaped Bengali literature, music, and art of the Indian subcontinent.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued the separate messages on this occasion of the 159th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

To celebrate the birth anniversary of Rabindranath, a special one-hour program titled ‘Ami Bhoy Korbo Na, Bhoy Korbo Na’ was aired on BTV simultaneously and various private Television (TV) channels under the auspices of Bangladesh Ministry of Cultural Affairs. State Minister for Cultural Affairs K.M. Khalid gave a welcome speech at the program. It was jointly organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Bangladesh Television.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky made the program while Director General of Bangladesh Television SM Harun- ur-Rashid was in the overall supervision.

On the 25th of Baishakh in 1268 Bengali year, Rabindranath, the fountainhead of Bengali wisdom, was born at Jorasanko in Kolkata.
