President of United States Mr. Donald Trump responded Saturday that he is “glad” about the reappearance of Kim Jong Un and to see him apparently healthy.
“I, for one, am glad to see he is back, and well!” Trump posted on twitter, following Kim’s first public appearance in nearly three weeks after intense speculation that he was truly sick or potentially dead.
North Korean state television broadcasted Kim’s appearance. According to North Korea Kim was walking, smiling broadly, and smoking a cigarette at the opening of a fertilizer factory on Friday in Sunchon, north of Pyongyang.
Bits of gossip about Kim’s wellbeing has been whirling since his conspicuous no-show at April 15 celebrations for the birthday of his grandfather, the North’s founder — the most significant day in the nation’s political schedule.
His nonattendance set off a progression of fevered gossipy tidbits and unverified reports over his condition.
Trump had made light of reports of Kim’s unforeseen weakness and possible demise.
