UEFA Women’s Championship postponed to July 2022

UEFA Women’s euro is Europe’s biggest women’s sports event. Executive Committee from UEFA confirmed the news of the postponement of UEFA Women’s euro championship 2021 for one year due to the coronavirus Pandemic.

“The UEFA government Committee has endorsed that the postponed UEFA Women’s euro 2021 are going to be played in England from 6 to 31 July 2022. it’s planned to use constant venues that were originally projected to host the event,” UEFA stated throughout a press release on Thursday.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin told the UEFA had thought of all choices for the tournament.

“By moving UEFA Women’s EURO in 2022, we are ensuring that our flagship women’s competition is reaching to be the only real major soccer tournament of the summer, providing it with the spotlight it deserves,” he supplemented.

“With the Olympics now being confirmed for summer 2021, we firmly believe that moving to 2022 is in the best interests of the tournament, the players, the fans, women’s football partners and everybody involved in all areas and at all levels of the game,” said UEFA’s chief of women’s football, Nadine Kessler.

Football clubs around the world face fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic as leagues and tournaments as well as UEFA stay suspended or canceled.
