Deutschland to start first clinical tests on COVID-19 vaccine

Germany has approved its 1st trial of a vaccinum for the novel coronavirus, the country’s restrictive body aforesaid Wednesday, green-lighting trials on human volunteers for a ribonucleic acid vaccine developed by German firm Biontech and the United States giant Pfizer.

“The Paul-Ehrlich-Institut… has authorized the primary clinical test of a vaccine against COVID-19 in Deutschland,” the regulatory body stated during a statement.

It added that endorsement was the “result of a careful assessment of the potential risk/benefit profile of the vaccine candidate”.
