7th March Historic Speech in Sign Language

We are all familiar with the iconic speech delivered by the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 7th march of 1971. It has been recognized by UNESCO as a part of the ‘Memory of the World Register’ as a documentary heritage and it is an important part of the history of independent Bangladesh.

While working on our initiative to empower the Profoundly Deaf community, we found that they are unable to hear the powerful words, and miss out on the tremendous inspiration it provides to all of us. Driven by our sense of responsibility, we have made a Sign Language Enabled version of the speech for them. The video is available on Youtube.

Grameenphone believes that by doing this we are inspiring this community and playing our part in preserving the immense legacy of the father of our nation. This is a unique attempt from Grameenphone to celebrate the 100th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the nation. Which is enacted by some remarkable media personalities like Syed Hasan Imam, Aupee Karim, Tahsan Khan, Arafat Sultana Lata, Biddya Sinha Mim, Masuma Rahman Nabila, Manoj Pramanik, Afran Nisho and Gousul Alam Shaon in sign language.
