The most grave – the helplessness of many people who trapped in the fire. Fire Service and Civil Defense employees responded to each incident as quickly as possible. They brought people out of the collapsing collapse with the risk of life. Also, they brought people out of the fire in multi-story buildings. They also took risks of their life for humanity as well as to do the duty. Keeping in mind about the anxieties of own family and friend, they try to make sure that others can safely return home also. It is a great achievement for them to save the lives of helpless people.
On April 11th, BRAC organized an honorary ceremony to show gratitude and respect to these infinite brave fighters. The honor ceremony was organized at the auditorium of the Institute of Diploma Engineers at Kakrail. Senior Director of BRAC, Asif Saleh hosted the program. In this honoring ceremony Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor M Atiqul Islam was present along with Brigadier General Md Sajjad Hossain, Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense. also Fire Service and Civil Defense Director (Operations and Maintenance) Major AKM Shakil Newaz, Director (Training, Planning and Development) Lt. Colonel SM Zulfikar Rahman.
In this felicitation, 4 lakh taka checks were handed out on behalf of BRAC to the family of the fireman Sohel Rana who was injured and died during the rescue operation in the Banani FR Tower. Three lakh taka were also donated by BRAC to the Fire Service and Civil Defense Trust Fund.
Apart from this, people who saved from the fire at different times gave flowers and appreciation latter to 10 fire service personnel. They are Fireman Sohagachandra Karmakar, Bishnupad Mistri, Zakir Hossain, Kazi Sohag, Shahidul Islam, Jewel Mahmud, Mofizul Islam, Alamgir Hossain, Nazir Hossain, Moktar Hossain.
